I almost lost my company to my own pride.
I founded and ran an EdTech consulting firm for years. The first four years looked like success from the outside, but I'd made myself the single point of failure, and I'd stopped believing the best of my people because I couldn't imagine the business working without me.
It took twelve months to rebuild how I led: trading the control I was gripping so tightly for what my people were actually capable of. The business that had plateaued grew 3X in revenue and 7X in EBITDA, and I sold it eight years later for more than $70 million.
That's the whole reason ALT Engine exists. I'm Chris Meroff, and this is where I help other leaders make the same trade, before they get as close to the edge as I did.

I've spent 25+ years working with leaders, first in education, then building and selling my own company using the same principles I teach now. These days that shows up in a few different ways: what I bring to the table, the work I do directly with people, and what I'm putting out as I keep learning. Here's where to find each.
25+ years working with leaders, an EdTech company built, nearly broken, and sold for over $70 million, and the ALIGN and Empathy Revolution books to show for it.
Regular notes on leadership, culture, empathy, and what it actually takes to lead people well. No theory, a real story of failure and success.
A self-study curriculum built around Align and Lead, for leaders who want to work through the framework at their own pace.
Direct, one-on-one work with me, not a program with associates in between. I apply what rebuilt my own leadership straight to your actual situation.
